Amnesty International says that the arrest of Ahmed Fahim Azimi, an activist for education rights, is arbitrary and the unfair trial of Azimi is against international human rights laws.
Amnesty International has said in its newsletters that Ahmad Fahim Azimi, an activist for education rights, has been sentenced to one year in prison by an unfair trial by the primary court of the Taliban group.
According to this newsletter, it is stated that Mr. Azimi has been falsely accused of working against the Taliban, and Azimi’s arbitrary arrest and unfair trial are against international human rights laws, and he should be released immediately and unconditionally.
But the Taliban group has not said anything about the reason for the massive imprisonment.
This is while Ahmed Fahim Azimi and Sediqullah Afghan, activists who cooperated with the educational organization “Fekr Bethra” and were arrested in October 2023 from their office in Karte Chahar, Kabul, by the Taliban Intelligence Directorate.
While Sediqullah Afghan was released on the 9th of April by the order of amnesty of the leader of the Taliban group on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr. Ahmad Fahim Azimi is still imprisoned in Polcharkhi prison.
