At the same time as the International Day of Peace approaches, a number of Afghan citizens say that relative security has been established in the country; But there will be no real peace until work, education and civil liberties are provided to all citizens.
Today, September 21, coincides with the International Day of Peace and every year this day is celebrated all over the world; But the people of Afghanistan have been celebrating this day for years under the shadow of war and hoping for a war-free Afghanistan.
Afghan citizens are thirsty for peace; Because Afghanistan has spent the last four decades in war and hundreds of thousands of civilians have been killed and injured in four decades of war. Millions of Afghan citizens are still affected by the war. For this reason, every year, the most important wish of the Afghan people on the International Day of Peace is the end of war and violence in the country.
After the reintroduction of the Taliban group in Afghanistan on August 15, 2021, a number of citizens of the country say that relative security has been established in the country; But the field of work, education and civil liberties have been taken away from them.
Rahman Behzad, one of the residents of Kabul city, said in a conversation with the reporter of Peace Window that relative security has been provided after the rule of the Taliban group in Afghanistan. But the current situation has made them worried.
Mr. Behzad added that peace does not only mean the end of war, but they believe that according to the original definition of peace, every human being should be given the right to live with all their basic rights in mind.
Rahman Ahmadzoi, another resident of Kabul city, says that peace has been secured in the country and there is no war; But people are struggling with many problems, including lack of work.
Sirat Rahmani, one of the residents of Bamyan province, said in this conversation: “It is true that security has been established in the country and no one is killed every day like in the previous period, and we are very happy about this. But schools, universities and courses for girls are closed, and there will be permanent peace in the country when the gates of schools, universities and work are opened for the girls of our land.
Kobra Hassanzadeh, one of the students of Daikundi Province, who was engaged in learning science before the fall of the previous regime, said in this conversation that until work, education and civil liberties are provided to all citizens of the country by the caretaker government, there will be no real peace.
Ms. Hassanzadeh believes that due to the restrictions imposed by the Taliban group on the citizens of the country, real peace has not been achieved in Afghanistan yet.
He says these words while the Taliban group closed the gates of schools to millions of girls above the sixth grade after regaining power in Afghanistan, and after that they did not allow girls and women to go to universities.
However, it has been three years since the Taliban government has denied girls above the sixth grade from education.
In this regard, a number of political and cultural experts believe that in order to ensure lasting peace in the country, the caretaker government and the people must do something so that there is no opposition to Afghanistan in the whole world.
Abdulhamid Mahmoudi, a political expert and university professor, said in a conversation with the reporter of Peace Window that peace and security in Afghanistan are currently secured to some extent, and the Taliban group and the people should make more efforts in this field so that no opposition is found in the world.
Mr. Mahmoudi added that people who oppose peace in Afghanistan should resolve this issue through dialogue.
He stated that security is ensured throughout the country; However, education is blocked for millions of Afghan girls, and the Taliban must make serious efforts in this field to achieve the satisfaction of the country’s citizens.
Weis Naseri, another expert on political issues, said in this conversation that there has been relative security in Afghanistan in the past three years, but; Non-compliance with human rights issues and the UN Charter by the Taliban is a serious matter that prevents the recognition of the Taliban government and permanent peace in Afghanistan.
Mr. Naseri added that the Taliban group should respect the demands of the international community and make serious efforts to form an inclusive government, respect human rights issues, open the gates of schools and universities to girls and not support terrorist groups in Afghanistan.
On the other hand, Shahrzad Akbar, the former head of the Human Rights Commission of Afghanistan in the Republican system, wrote in a message on the occasion of the International Day of Peace on his X that we celebrate the International Day of Peace while Afghanistan is waiting for permanent peace after 40 years of war.
Mrs. Akbar said: “We are still waiting for peace in our land, which after 40 years of war in Afghanistan, violence, destruction, cruelty, oppression of women, discrimination, poverty, need, displacement continues.”
At the same time, a number of psychologists believe that peace is not only about establishing security; Rather, the citizens of the country should have mental peace.
Maryam Afzali, one of the psychologists, said in a conversation with the reporter of Peace Window: “When we can have at least one hope in life, the needs that we have in terms of society have been given to us, and at least our future is clear, then we can Let’s have mental and inner peace.”
In this regard, the United Nations celebrated the International Day of Peace with the slogan “Art in the service of peace” and, criticizing some conflicts in a number of countries, asked all parties to cultivate a culture in which equality, peace and justice to grow
The deputy head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) on Friday, the 30th of Sableh, the occasion of the International Day of Peace, emphasized the continuation of vital aid for the people of Afghanistan and added that in order to create lasting peace in this country, the basic human needs of Afghans must be supported. take
However, in 1981, the United Nations declared September 21 as the International Day of Peace and stated that the purpose of this work is to ensure and promote collective peace in the world, so that through this day, the world will pay more attention to peace.
Although the Taliban group in Afghanistan repeatedly talks about establishing nationwide peace and providing security; But including the general public and international organizations, especially the United Nations and various countries, are worried about the current situation in Afghanistan.
