UNAMA: Violence against Hazara has increased in Afghanistan

The Office of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) says that Afghanistan has seen an increase in violence against Shia Hazara community in the past month.   The office of the United Nations Deputy Mission in Afghanistan has written on its X page today (Monday, 13th of December) that in the past month, Afghanistan has seen an increase in violence against the Hazara people (Shiites).

UN Expert: Perfect storm of human rights challenges in Afghanistan require urgent redress

Afghanistan is facing a convergence of challenges, including a deteriorating human rights situation due to the Taliban's repressive policies and practices, a culture of impunity, an ongoing humanitarian and economic crisis, recent deadly earthquakes, and the possibility of massive  involuntary returns, all of which require urgent action to avoid further suffering and potential instability in the country and the region, a UN expert said today.
