The head of the office of the United Nations Deputy Mission in Afghanistan says that he hopes that the citizens of Afghanistan will benefit from their human rights.

Roza Otenbayeva, the head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) said today, Wednesday, 22 August, on the occasion of the International Day of “Remembrance of Victims of Terrorism” and “Victims of Religion-Based Violence” that she hopes that the suffering of the people of Afghanistan will be relieved. who have been victims of intimidation and violence for years should end with the provision of their human rights.

Mrs. Otunbaeva added that a large number of Afghan people have been victims of violence in the past few decades and the United Nations has issued a call to strengthen dialogue in order to create peace in Afghanistan under the Taliban administration.

According to the special representative of the UN Secretary General for Afghanistan, this organization and its member countries continue their talks with the Taliban group regarding the observance of human rights.

This is despite the fact that in 2017, the United Nations dedicated August 21 to commemorate the victims of “terrorism”.

In 2019, the General Assembly also designated August 22 as the International Day of Commemoration for Victims of Violence Based on Religion or Belief.

It should be noted that the Taliban group has violated the rights of people, especially women and ethnic and religious minorities, in the last three years.
